Somali Dutch UK is a community-based advocacy organisation dedicated to supporting, empowering, and representing members of the Somali, Dutch-Somali, and wider migrant communities in the United Kingdom. We are an independent, non-governmental, and not-for-profit initiative founded on the principles of community service, social justice, mutual respect, and civic participation.

Our mission is to encourage and support our communities in preserving their cultural heritage, values, traditions, and identity while actively participating in British society. We believe integration is a two-way process that benefits both communities and society as a whole. By promoting understanding, dialogue, and cooperation, we seek to build stronger, more inclusive communities where diversity is valued and everyone has an equal opportunity to pursue happiness, freedom, dignity, and success.

We advocate for individuals and families facing social, legal, educational, economic, and human rights challenges. Through community engagement, information sharing, signposting, and partnership building, we strive to ensure that voices from our communities are heard and respected.

As a grassroots organisation, Somali Dutch UK is entirely community-based and volunteer-run. We do not receive funding from governments, political parties, or institutional sponsors. Maintaining our independence allows us to remain resilient, impartial, and accountable primarily to the communities we serve. This independence enables us to advocate freely and speak with integrity on issues affecting our members without external influence.

Our work is made possible through the generosity of private donors, supporters, volunteers, and community members who share our vision of a fair, inclusive, and prosperous society. We rely principally on individual contributions from within our community, while also welcoming support from friends, allies, and well-wishers who believe in our mission and values.

We are committed to fostering positive relationships between communities, strengthening social cohesion, promoting civic engagement, and encouraging active participation in public life. Through collaboration, dialogue, and advocacy, we aim to contribute to a society where all individuals are treated with respect, have equal opportunities, and can fully realise their potential.
